Getting to Einsiedeln

Zurich Airport
You can reach Einsiedeln in about 1h10 - 1h30 from Zürich airport, with a connection in Wädenswil or two connections in Zurich SBB/CFF and Wädenswil. There are trains leaving every 10-20 minutes depending on the selected route.

The Euroairport is shared between France, Switzerland and Germany. Be sure to exit the airport towards Switzerland. Bus 50 takes you directly to Basel SBB / Bâle CFF station.
From there you will be able to reach Einsiedeln by train in about 2 hours, with connections in Zürich SBB/CFF and Wädenswil. There are trains leaving every 30 minutes. Expected cost to your final destination : 57,60 CHF. |

Getting to the Allegro Hotel
From Einsiedeln train station : Buses #555, #552 or #553 run every 12 minutes towards the Hotel Allegro. After a 4 minute drive, get off at “Einsiedeln, Friedhof” bus stop. The hotel is a short walk away on Lincolnweg, on the other side of the bus stop.Tickets for the whole journey to Hotel Allegro (Einsiedeln, Friedhof stop) can be bought from the machines located near the trains in the airports/train stations.

What to do in the area?
- Enjoy a swim in the lake 30 minutes' walk from the Hotel Allegro at Sihlsee Badi.
- Relax in the Sauna of the Hotel Drei Könige facing the cloister of Einsiedeln.
- Visit the Einsiedeln’s cloister from Monday to Friday at 14:00 - Entrance fee: 20 CHF
- Go for a hike from the village of Brunni at the end of the valley.

Electrical outlets in Switzerland are of the type J and can be used with any C-type male plug (with 2 pins) but not with F-type male plugs.
- Swiss Francs are the local currency. You can pay almost anything anywhere by card, and many shops accept Euros (but the rate might not be favourable)
- Switzerland is not part of the EU (it is part of Schengen, though): please check you have the appropriate travel documentation AND double-check with your service provider as roaming costs may be extravagant!
