How to get to Caen?

There is indeed an airport in Caen-Carpiquet but with few international destinations. See here: https://www.caen.aeroport.fr/destinations/

Therefore, it is much more likely you will get a flight to Paris. From any Paris' airport, the easiest way to travel to Caen is by train from Saint-Lazare station. Here is some information about how to get Saint-Lazare station from the main airports.

From Charles-de-Gaulle (CDG) airport: 3 options

  1. Taxi or private hire vehicle (PHV): This is the fastest and most comfortable option.
Travel time: 40 to 50 minutes.
Price: €55 to €75 one way.
  2. RER B: The simplest and most economical public transport option. You can take the RER B from CDG airport to Châtelet-les-Halles, then from Châtelet-les-Halles, take metro line 14 to Saint-Lazare station.
    Travel time: 50 minutes.
    Price: €11.80.
It is the option we would recommend.
  3. Direct shuttles: Some shuttles connect Paris and CDG, with a travel time similar to public transport.

From Orly (ORY) airport:

From Beauvais-Tillé (LBG) airport:

From Saint-Lazare station, trains leave for Caen every two hours, travel time is about 2 hours. In Caen, the train station is in the city centre, about 17 minutes from the conference venue by the tramway, 33 minutes on foot. The tramway T2 leaves every 12 minutes. You can get a ticket from a machine at every tram stop, either for one trip or for 24 hours.

For tramway T2 schedules, see https://s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/files.twisto.fr/s3fs-public/documents/T2-sept2025.pdf?VersionId=5Kr02LdYqqKmmP4e_ZSF66LqAzSRkC8w

The venue is easily accessible by foot from the city centre and from every hotel mentioned below.
